Admissions policy 2025-2026

The school admissions number for the school year 2025/2026 is 47 part time places in Nursery. Places in our Nursery will be available at 3 points this year.

In Staffordshire, all 3- and 4-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare; however, working families may be eligible for an additional 15 hours. For more information and to apply, please visit Funded education for 3 and 4-year-olds – Staffordshire County Council. Our nursery offers 32.5 hours of provision per week, and there is a £3.50 daily charge for children who are eligible for 30 hours free but wish to stay full time.

If you have any concerns or questions about hours or charges, please speak to the EYFS leader, who will be happy to help.

Your child can join our school for 15 hours free nursery education from the term after their 3rd birthday. The sessions offered will be 8:45am – 11:45AM, Mon-Fri.

We also offer free 30 hours provision. If you would like your child to remain in school until 15:15 Mon-Fri, there is £3.50 daily charge to cover the additional 2.5 hours. Please see the offer letter below for more details.

Our current sessions are:

AM – 8:45am-11:45am (15 hours free provision)

PM – 11.45am -3:15pm (for those who are entitled to 30 hours or who wish to pay per session)

If you access the 30 hour entitlement here at Oxhey First School, then you would have 2 options over the lunch time period. They are;

Option 1: You can pay for a school lunch for your child at a cost of £3.20.

Option 2: You can send your child in with a packed lunch from home.

If you are not eligible for the 30 hour entitlement but want to access some sessions beyond the universal 15 hrs, please let us know so that we can try and accommodate your needs. Our charges are £19.79 per session.

If you also require before or after school care, the costs are as follows:

7.30am – 8:50am     £6.50
3.15pm – 4.30pm     £4.35
3.15pm – 6.00pm     £8.70
Full Day (am & pm) £12.50

Key Dates:

Closing date for applications for April 2026 is 1st February 2026. (Child is 3 by 31/03/2026)

Closing date for applications for September 2026 is 1st May 2026. (Child is 3 by 31/08/2026)

Closing date for applications for January 2027 is 1st October 2026. (Child is 3 by 31/12/2026)

Closing date for applications for April 2027 is 1st February 2027. (Child is 3 by 31/03/2027)
