Welcome to Oxhey First School
Dear parents and carers,
I am delighted to welcome you to our friendly and caring school. There is something very special about Oxhey and we are incredibly proud of our unique children, supportive parents, inspirational staff, forward thinking governors and dedicated PTFA. We all work in collaboration to make our school a safe, happy and vibrant place to learn and thrive.
At Oxhey we have high expectations of ourselves and our children. The challenges that we set the pupils show them that we believe they can achieve them, instilling the confidence and ambition to do so. We provide an excellent foundation for our children to develop as individuals and are committed to enabling all pupils to fulfil their potential. We encourage them to grow personally, socially and morally, as well as academically.
The aim of our provision is to encourage and foster an inquisitive nature and a love for learning. We believe that this is the key to success. We have a great deal of fun in our learning, whether in the classroom or outdoors, on visits or during themed learning days. Our dedicated, hardworking team of staff deliver an exciting and broad curriculum whilst bringing our aims and values to life. It is very important to us that the children make lots of wonderful memories to take away with them.
Together, we work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure our pupils gain value, knowledge, skills and attitudes that will help them become resilient, motivated life-long learners and responsible citizens of the future. We firmly believe in building strong, positive relationships between our pupils, parents, governors and the community.
Warm wishes,
Mrs Lorraine Jukes
Executive Headteacher

📣 Key Stage 2 Sports Day - Cancelled.
Due to the forecast high temperatures for tomorrow, we have taken the decision to cancel our Key Stage 2 Sports Day (25.06.26)
Adaptations have been made to ensure our Early Years and KS1 Sports Mornings have still been able to go ahead safely. However, due to the nature of the Key Stage 2 events, including the use of the track on the top field, it would not be safe for these activities to take place in the predicted conditions. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
👍 As this is the Year 4's final Sports Day at Oxhey, we also want to ensure they are able to fully enjoy the experience and take part in all events.

🙌 Thank you for your continued co-operation and support during this period of warm weather.
✅️ We are open as normal and have a number of measures in place to ensure the children remain as comfortable and cool as possible throughout the day.
💚 Yesterday, we were able to keep the classrooms and hall cool and the children settled despite the high temperatures, and we will continue to monitor conditions closely.
🔆 As a reminder, please ensure your child comes to school with: A water bottle, a sun hat & sun cream already applied before arriving at school.
👍 Key Stage 1 Sports Day will go ahead, as planned, this morning from 9.15am - 10.15am in the shaded areas of our school grounds.
🌈 We appreciate your support in helping us keep all children safe, comfortable, and able to enjoy their day.
