Welcome to Oxhey First School
Dear parents and carers,
I am delighted to welcome you to our friendly and caring school. There is something very special about Oxhey and we are incredibly proud of our unique children, supportive parents, inspirational staff, forward thinking governors and dedicated PTFA. We all work in collaboration to make our school a safe, happy and vibrant place to learn and thrive.
At Oxhey we have high expectations of ourselves and our children. The challenges that we set the pupils show them that we believe they can achieve them, instilling the confidence and ambition to do so. We provide an excellent foundation for our children to develop as individuals and are committed to enabling all pupils to fulfil their potential. We encourage them to grow personally, socially and morally, as well as academically.
The aim of our provision is to encourage and foster an inquisitive nature and a love for learning. We believe that this is the key to success. We have a great deal of fun in our learning, whether in the classroom or outdoors, on visits or during themed learning days. Our dedicated, hardworking team of staff deliver an exciting and broad curriculum whilst bringing our aims and values to life. It is very important to us that the children make lots of wonderful memories to take away with them.
Together, we work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure our pupils gain value, knowledge, skills and attitudes that will help them become resilient, motivated life-long learners and responsible citizens of the future. We firmly believe in building strong, positive relationships between our pupils, parents, governors and the community.
Warm wishes,
Mrs Lorraine Jukes
Executive Headteacher

Deepfakes can make it appear that someone has said or done something they haven’t, using AI to create increasingly convincing fake images, videos and audio.
As this technology becomes easier to access, children and young people may encounter risks ranging from online bullying and impersonation to scams and fabricated explicit content.
Our latest #WakeUpWednesday guide explores:
• AI-enabled bullying
• Cloned voices and fake family scams
• Bogus celebrity endorsements
• Fabricated images and videos
• Extortion and digital blackmail
It also offers practical advice for parents and educators on recognising warning signs, protecting personal information and talking to young people about responsible AI use.

🎃TOMORROW - PTFA SPOOKTACULAR DISCO
🎵Join us for music, dancing, games and fun, all hosted by our fantastic DJ who ALWAYS keeps everyone entertained on the dance floor!
👍This year, we've introduced a new, easier way to pay. Payments can now be made via direct bank transfer.
💜 Nursery and Reception children will have their disco in school time and do not need to bring in any "disco" clothes, as they will be enjoying their non-uniform 'Funny Bones' dress-up day! Perfect.
👻 KS1 are welcome to bring their disco clothes or spooky costume in a named carrier bag to get changed into at the end of the school day.
🎃 KS2, we'll see you back in school in your disco clothes or spooktacular costume at 4.15pm for your frightfully fun evening!
💚Thank you for supporting our PTFA event.
🦇 See you there!

Another wonderful example of high quality professional development for our staff. Thank you!We recently welcomed Early Years professionals across our schools to the CFLP Training Hub for training on the Early Years Gross Motor Screening Tool.
The session covered how to use and interpret the screening tool, with practical activities and case examples, and how the results can help inform next steps and targeted support.
Thanks to everyone who joined us and to afPE (association for Physical Education) the Early Years Programme for delivering the session.
