I was appointed to the Local Advisory Board for Oxhey First School in 2019. Since then, Oxhey has been on an exciting journey which I have been fortunate to share, culminating with it achieving an outstanding Ofsted rating. I have two young sons, one of which is currently at Oxhey so I am committed to ensuring our children’s learning environment is an enjoyable one; and a place where they are encouraged and nurtured to be the very best they can be. I am a solicitor by profession, with litigation and governance experience. I bring my professional skills to this role as well as skills I’ve developed being part of a very effective governing body both at Oxhey and previously at Endon High School.
As Chair of the Local Advisory Board, I would like to hear from you if you have any questions or queries. My contact details can be obtained from the school office.

My name is Dionne Timony and I am an experienced and committed educator with twelve years of teaching experience, including four years as a Subject Leader of Geography and most recently embarking upon the role of Head of Faculty for Humanities. My professional background demonstrates capacity for leadership, strategic planning and a deep understanding of the educational landscape. As a mother of two children – one of whom attends Oxhey First School – I am passionate about creating opportunities for children in our town to receive excellent educational and pastoral care. Within my role I have led curriculum development, monitored teaching and learning standards and implemented data-driven interventions to support student progress.
I am committed to improving pupil wellbeing, which I have developed in my previous roles within school as a Mental Health Support Coordinator, Designated Teacher for Looked After Children and Pupil Premium Lead. In these positions, I have worked closely with families, external agencies and school staff to ensure pupils receive the support they need to thrive. I have experience in managing budgets, coordinating multi-agency support and tracking pupil progress which aligns well with the strategic and oversight responsibilities of a school governor. I will bring a balanced perspective, combining classroom insight with a broader understanding of school operations and pupil needs.
I am eager to contribute my skills and experience to Oxhey First School’s governing body, supporting its mission to provide a nurturing and high-quality education for all children.

I am a semi retired Tax Inspector and now in my 50th and final year with that department. As a senior leader within such an organisation, I have gained invaluable skills around leadership, planning, finance, performance and behaviours to name just a few. I am looking forward to using these transferable skills to support everyone within the school.
I have lived in the town all of my life and am in the unique position of having been a governor at the school previously when our children attended. I also served as a governor at Woodhouse Academy and was Chair of Governors at the High School for many years too, so I am very keen to utilise my previous experience going forwards.
I am a proud father of two, and even more proud granddad of four! One of my grandchildren is currently in the Nursery at Oxhey and I am looking forward to seeing how she continues to develop in such a great environment.

I have worked in education for 17 years, starting my career as a teacher of mathematics before progressing through a variety of middle leadership roles, including Head of Department and Lead Practitioner. For the past 9 years, I have been a senior leader, and for the last 5 years, I have served as Vice Principal of a large secondary school. My leadership experience spans key areas such as teaching and learning, behaviour, achievement, literacy, and intervention/tuition.
I am proud to have three children currently at Oxhey—one in Year 3 and two in Reception—and my eldest recently moved on to Woodhouse after an amazing experience throughout his time here. I am passionate about supporting Oxhey First School to continue to thrive and provide the best possible start for all its pupils.
